Happy St. Patricks Day!

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!

Last night Hunter and I made up some delicious treats for his daycare buddies to celebrate today. I decided to go with "Cake Pops". They are essentially a version of the Cupcake Bites, but on a stick. How fun and festive! It went fairly well, and actually I kind of like the process better for these cake pops, it's a little easier. Here are some pics...

Surprisingly enough I had a bunch of green sprinkles and a bag of green chocolate melts...

The ones I brought to work, I put in these little clear plastic bags!

I had these cute little shamrock bags for the kids at daycare!

Can't wait for tonight! Like I mentioned yesterday, we are having some friends over for Corned Beef & Cabbage :). Plus, it's beautiful out today... hard to be in a bad mood today!

Wedding Invites!

Now that we are (pretty) positive everyone has gotten their Wedding invitation, I can post about them! Like I mentioned before, I ordered them on Vistaprint.com, and got a great deal! I was slightly "hesitant" when I ordered them, as I just wasn't sure what the quality would be. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I got them! I just love them :)

The invite...

The response card...

The return envelope "addresser" <--I make up my own words ...

The envelope seal...
We got such a great deal & they are exactly what we wanted. They even have matching Thank You cards that we ordered. Go Vista!

Tomorrow is St. Patricks day, woo hoo! We are having some friends over for Corned Beef & Cabbage, Potatos and Carrots and some Irish Soda bread. Oh yeah, and did I mention beer? I'm pretty excited, I'm trying to think up a fun "green dessert" to serve.

Oh yeah, & jeans/greens day at work? Thank you very much!

Happy Tuesday!

I have some posts about the weekend & wedding updates, but I will finish those up later! Right now, I just wanted to share a picture that I got this morning from Trevor.

Long story short, we are trying to get Hunter off the binky. Not cold turkey, because we still have some "time", but more gradually. He does okay for most of the day but then he starts doing the "binky call" and will go searching for his fix.

Were we suprised when we realized he was hoarding binkys in his room? Not really...

But that he could fit two in his mouth? That's awesome.

Oh Hunter, our amazingly weird baby. We love you!

A St. Patty's day weekend...

We had a great weekend!

Friday night we went to the mall in search of some green accessories for the parade. My co-worker/friend Crystal met Amanda, Delaney, Hunter and I at the mall w/ her 3 year old son DJ and his cousin Nicholas (also 3). Yes, you heard it right... 3 little boys under the age of 3, yikes. We had a blast, Hunter loved his new friends and watched them like a hawk. There was even a point in the night (after pizza, cookies and gumballs) that we allowed them to "run" free down by a deserted area of the mall.

He just loved hangin' with the boys!

Saturday was the St. Patrick's day parade in the city. This year I went with some of my friends, & hunter. It was pretty fun! The weather was a little cold, and Hunter ended up falling asleep before the parade even started but it was still cool. I think he will enjoy the "summer" parades more. A few pics to commemorate...

The green gang!

As you can see, Hunter was very interested in the parade. He actually fell asleep on my shoulder before it even started! He's the stroller on the right ;), the other little guy is Amanda's step sister's little on. They were both adorable all bundled up and snoozin' in the midst of laughter, sirens, drums/horns, you name it. He was so sleepy, he went home w/ Amanda's Dad to hang out for the day once the parade was over.

Some wedding news!

I also finally ordered my wedding shoes! I can't move forward w/ my alterations until I found my shoes so I'm pretty happy about that! Can't wait to grab a bottle of champagne and head over to the bridal shop for the "finishing touches".

Trevor's having a heart attack with each little "package" that appears at our door step. I have been having so much luck w/ Etsy.com. So far I've gotten jewlery, our toasting glasses, our cake topper, the guestbook and the unity candle set! Plus some bridesmaid stuff that I refuse to speak of ;).

Getting excited! My bridal shower is in a few weeks & then the fun begins!!

Holy ketchup day.

Yes, I feel as though I have dissapeared off the blogging circuit. It's not that I have nothing going on, in fact it might be quite the opposite. Come on folks, who said planning a wedding in 3 months was easy? Well, I'm happy to report, things are going really well so far! We got our invitations in the mail a few days ago and spent an hour or so assembling, stamping and addressing :). It makes it seem so much more real now. We went them out yesterday! I will show them off later, once I've ensured that everyone's gotten them. I'm in love with Vistaprint.com is amazing. Cheap, cute & has EVERYTHING we needed including thank you cards!

Something that I'm also really excited about is that we finally ordered the bridesmaid dresses. We ended up finding them at a local shop that is actually about 1/2 a mile from my house. Go figure! The girls will look beautiful in them... I can't wait until they come in. There's a lot behind the (Bridesmaid dresses) and my own dress. I don't want to share too much as I feel as though it will take away the element of surprise, and I will be more than happy to tell the story later but let me just say: there are some really amazing people left in this world :) and you should never ever underestimate or take for granted, the niceness of a complete stranger. Let me just leave it at this...I have my dream dress! Woo hoo. More to come later, but just know, that I am once extremely happy, & overly grateful lady right now :).

Everything else is falling into place very nicely. Like I've mentioned before, the fact that Hurd takes care of sooo much, it really leaves the "extras" from our side really manageable. We found a DJ...It's an old co-worker of MY old Supervisor at work. He runs a DJ business on the side, so we were able to get it for super cheap. Not to mention, my wonderful Aunt has decided to give this to us as a wedding gift (she claims I have too much stuff...she may be right). It was a wonderfully thoughtful gift, and we really do appreciate it.

I was also really happy to find someone to do our hair on the wedding day! I went to a bridal show last weekend with my best bud Amanda. In the midst of cake tasting, taking pictures in photo booths and "sampling" Hypnotiq...We were flagged down by a few ladies at a hair salon and spa booth. They started asking questions about if I had someone to do my hair (truthfully I didn't at that point) and she asked if we wanted a demo done, on MY hair. I said sure, why the heck not! So I looked through the hair book, found one that I loved and the woman got to work. About 25 minutes later, she starts spraying the crap out of my hair (I had to cover up the mimosa amanda bought me while we were waiting..). I thought she may be taking a break, but she gave me the mirror to take a look. I was soo impressed! Not to brag, but my hair looked great! It was just what i was hoping for. And obviously she took only 25 minutes because it was a demo..So it would look even more lovely after spending some more time on it ... :). After they were done, I looked at their pricing (I assumed they had to be really expensive and they wanted to get me hooked). I was shocked to discover not only were there prices reasonable, but because I booked on the day of the show it was even cheaper. Plus, they are going to come right on site for my wedding (we get the cottage across from the venue for free w/ the wedding packege, so it's a place to get ready). Woo hoo!!

A little break from wedding stuff...Yesterday I took Hunter Charles to get his hair cut. He freaked out a little but when it was all said and done, I can't stop thinking how handsome and grown-up he looks..

More to come soon!
